Relaxing Hair Play
The feeling you love when someone plays with your hair, only now you don’t have to hope they’ll keep going.
So…what exactly is hair play?
You know that feeling when someone starts playing with your hair and your entire body seems to exhale? That’s the idea.
Hair play is a relaxation-focused experience using gentle, repetitive touch through the hair and across the scalp. Your session may include brushing, scalp tracing, light scratching, hair sectioning, fingertip movements and other soothing techniques based entirely on your preferences.
There is nothing to accomplish. You don’t have to make conversation. You don’t even have to stay awake.
Just get comfortable. I’ll take it from there.

Your Halo Experience
Settle In
We ‘ll start with a quick consultation to learn what feels good to you, what doesn’t, and how you’d like to spend your session. Quiet, conversation, somewhere in between, it’s entirely up to you.
Get Comfortable
Settle into the treatment bed, get cozy, and let yourself stop doing for a while. There’s nowhere else you need to be.
Drift
Your session is customized using a combination of hair play, gentle scalp tracing, scratching, brushing, sectioning, and light repetitive touch. Prefer one sensation over another? We’ll spend more time there.
Stay Awhile
Talk if you want. Be completely quiet if you want. Close your eyes. Fall asleep. There is absolutely nothing expected of you.
Come Back Slowly
When your session ends, you’ll have a few moments to come back to reality before heading out feeling a little lighter than when you walked in.
Your only job is to get comfortable. I’ll take care of the rest.
FAQ’s
How should I arrive for my appointment?
Please arrive with clean, dry, freshly washed hair that is reasonably detangled and free of heavy oils, styling products, or excessive dry shampoo. Clean hair is necessary for me to comfortably and hygienically work through your hair and scalp throughout your session.
If your hair or scalp is not in a condition suitable for service due to cleanliness, excessive product buildup, significant tangling or matting, or another hygiene concern, your appointment will not be performed and you will be charged the full scheduled service price.
If you're unsure whether your hair is ready for your appointment, freshly washed and dry is always best.
Will my hair get messy?
Probably a little, and that’s part of the experience. Your hair will be brushed, sectioned, played with, and moved throughout your session. You may want to bring a brush or plan for a quick refresh afterward.
Can I choose what kind of touch I like?
Absolutely. Before we begin, we’ll talk about what you enjoy and anything you’d prefer to avoid. If you discover something you especially love during your session, just let me know. Your experience can be adjusted at any time.
Do I have to talk during my appointment?
Not at all. Conversation is completely optional. You are welcome to chat, close your eyes, enjoy the quiet or fall asleep. There is nothing expected of you while you’re here.
What should I wear?
Whatever makes you comfortable. You’ll remain fully clothed throughout your session. Clothing that allows you to comfortably lie back and relax is ideal.
Can I book hair play if I have extensions?
Yes! Hair extensions welcome. Your session will be customized around your extension type to protect your hair and maintain the integrity of your extensions. Certain tools or techniques may be modified or avoided when needed, but you’ll still receive the full relaxing Halo House experience.
Is hair play a massage?
No. Hair play is a relaxation service centered around gentle manipulation of the hair and light touch of the scalp. It is not massage therapy and is not intended to diagnose, treat or address medical conditions.
Is hair play appropriate for everyone?
If you have an active scalp condition, open sores, contagious skin condition, recent scalp procedure, or anything that could make touching or brushing the scalp uncomfortable, please reach out before booking so we can determine whether your appointment should be postponed.
Is this a professional service?
Yes. Halo House Lounge provides professional beauty and relaxation services in a licensed salon-suite environment. Hair play is strictly nonsexual, and inappropriate behavior will result in the immediate end of the session.
How are tools and linens cleaned between clients?
Your comfort and safety are a priority. Fresh linens are used for every guest, and reusable tools and treatment surfaces are cleaned and disinfected between appointments according to applicable sanitation standards. Single use items are discarded after each service.
